Color and Light
Pete Turner, an American Photographer, was born on May 30, 1934, and has been put among the top 20 influential artists by Photo District News with his style in photography primarily on colors. One of the pictures I have a sense of is the days when I saw things brighter around the ages before I was 10. The fact that it is also blurry makes it all feel nostalgic or a forgotten memory of how I saw things when I was happy like seeing a park during the times when I'd be excited to go out and seeing everything bright like the slide being bright yellow but if I were to see the same place the slide would become dull. The brightness of this picture just reminds me of a forgotten childhood that will never truly be remembered.
Within this picture, this seems to be a volcano that has erupted but with colors that seem to be changed, it turns something that should be feared by many to something to peacefully gaze upon. The vibrant colors and how distant we are from the volcano make me feel safe admiring this natural disaster. With the city below not being the main target of the photo, it makes me think more about mother nature and possibly juxtaposition or humans being allowed to coexist within this with one of the building's lights on showing life within the city. Pete Turner's photography can really change the way someone would see something that they could see on a daily basis into something that would change the way one would look at it.
