Steve McCurry-Owen Sampson

Steve McCurry is an American photographer who photographs people from foreign countries of their living conditions which mainly seem to be poor environments showing the lifestyle of the person he is taking a picture of. The pictures can show the culture of the specific person he is taking a picture of or the conditions they are currently living in. One thing that seems to be pointed out in the photos I have seen so far is that the people look as if they are either okay with their conditions or need help.

In this image, I see that the woman is happy ignoring her condition but when I try to come to a conclusion that it is likely that it is accepted in her culture or that it is something she is fine to deal with I accept that she seems to happy the way she looks like living with it for many years as it seems that she might be around 80. This picture definitely changes the way I look at someone that follows a different culture or a different lifestyle that is not in
America.

Within this image, the gallery of his photos does not all seem to show a person being either ok or happy about the place that they live in. The child tearing up as they have a gun pointed at themselves clearly shows how this young child's life has brought him to be suicidal. Not only is it a questionable picture of how this child has acquired a gun or why it was given to it for the picture it does represent either fear of it or fear of living any longer.

From having a glimpse of some of the pictures of what Steve McCurry has taken his style in documenting the life of other people out of America definitely points out either the issues or the greatness of these places he has decided to photograph.
